Lieutenant General Chuck Pitman
This 'Letter of Apology' was written by Lieutenant General Chuck Pitman, US Marine Corps, Retired:
For good and ill, the Iraqi prisoner abuse mess will remain an issue. On the one hand, right thinking Americans will abhor the stupidity of the actions while on the other hand, political glee will take control and fashion this minor event into some modern day massacre.
I humbly offer my opinion here:
I am sorry that the last seven times we Americans took up arms and sacrificed the blood of our youth; it was in the defense of Muslims ( Bosnia , Kosovo, Gulf War 1, Kuwait , etc.)
I am sorry that no such call for an apology upon the extremists came after 9/11.
I am sorry that all of the murderers on 9/11 were Islamic Arabs.
I am sorry that most Arabs and Muslims have to live in squalor under savage dictatorships.
I am sorry that their leaders squander their wealth.
I am sorry that their governments breed hate for the US in their religious schools, mosques, and government-controlled media.
I am sorry that Yasser Arafat was kicked out of every Arab country and high-jacked the Palestinian 'cause.'
I am sorry that no other Arab country will take in or offer more than a token amount of financial help to those same Palestinians.
I am sorry that the U. S. A. has to step in and be the biggest financial supporter of poverty stricken Arabs while the insanely wealthy Arabs blame the USA for all their problems.
I am sorry that our own left wing, our media, and our own brainwashed liberal masses do not understand any of this (from the misleading vocal elements of our society like radical liberal professors, CNN and the NY TIMES).
I am sorry the United Nations scammed the poor people of Iraq out of the 'food for oil' money so they could get rich while the common folk suffered.
I am sorry that some Arab governments pay the families of homicide bombers upon their death
I am sorry that those same bombers are brainwashed thinking they will receive 72 virgins in 'paradise.'
I am sorry that the homicide bombers think pregnant women, babies, children, the elderly and other noncombatant civilians are legitimate targets.
I am sorry that our troops die to free more Arabs from the gang rape rooms and the filling of mass graves of dissidents of their own making.
I am sorry that Muslim extremists have killed more Arabs than any other group.
I am sorry that foreign trained terrorists are trying to seize control of Iraq and return it to a terrorist state.
I am sorry we don't drop a few dozen Daisy cutters on Fallujah.
I am sorry every time terrorists hide they find a convenient 'Holy Site.'
I am sorry they didn't apologize for driving a jet into the World Trade Center that collapsed and severely damaged Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church - one of our Holy Sites.
I am sorry they didn't apologize for flight 93 and 175, the USS Cole, the embassy bombings, the murders and beheadings of Nick Berg and Daniel Pearl, etc....etc!
I am sorry Michael Moore is American; he could feed a medium sized village in Africa .
America will get past this latest absurdity. We will punish those responsible because that is what we do.
I am sorry the Barack Hussein Obama may be elected president of the United States when he doesn't have a clue on how to be a strong Commander-in-chief in a world filled with Muslim extremists who will do whatever it needs to do to destroy the lives of civilized people while killing innocent men, women and children in order to bring a change that is beneficial to all Islamic terrorists worldwide.
I am sorry that voters on the liberal left don't understand the frightening changes that are taking place in the Muslim world and what these changes will do to this world in which we live.
I am sorry that the Democratic Party has been highjacked by Socialists and Communists right under the very noses of those who take pride in calling themselves democrats.
We hang out our dirty laundry for the entire world to see. We move on. That's one of the reasons we are hated so much. We don't hide this stuff like all those Arab countries that are now demanding an apology.
Deep down inside, when most Americans saw this reported in the news, we were like - so what? We lost hundreds and made fun of a few prisoners. Sure, it was wrong, sure, it dramatically hurts our cause, but until captured we were trying to kill these same prisoners. Now we're supposed to wring our hands because a few were humiliated?
Our compassion is tempered with the vivid memories of our own people killed, mutilated and burnt amongst a joyous crowd of celebrating Fallujahans.
If you want an apology from this American, you're going to have a long wait! You have a better chance of finding those seventy-two virgins.
Chuck Pitman

Pass this on to your friends if you agree.
If not, I am sorry I offended you by passing on the facts.

Dear Diary
I was feeling depressed last week, so I called the mental health help line. Thanks, Paul.
Like all other call centers, it has been out- sourced to a third world location.
When I told the operator in Pakistan that I was feeling suicidal, he got
very excited and wanted to know if I could drive a truck or fly a plane!

Beat our satellites, beat America
Paul brought this piece to my attention. You should also be aware. Thanks, Paul.

A MAGINOT LINE IN THE SKY [Chinese, Russian Capabiltity to Attack US Satellites]Read the original in the NY Post.Source: NY PostOctober 26, 2007 -- AFTER the carnage of the First World War, France responded to the horrors of trench warfare by building the ultimate trenches - the infamous Maginot Line, a system of almost 5,000 individual fortifications arrayed along hundreds of miles of front to a depth of 20 miles.
Published: Oct 26, 2007
Author: Ralph Peters
Only the Great Wall of China was longer - and the Maginot Line was vastly more complex. A marvel of military engineering, the problem was that it required an enemy who played by French rules.
What happened? Paris poured so much money and effort into its network of fortresses that the generals couldn't believe it wouldn't work - the Germans would simply have to behave as required.
The Germans didn't. France fell.
Now the United States sits in imagined security behind its own array of crucial strategic assets - our network of satellites.
Beat our satellites, beat us.
The Chinese know it. The Russians know it. And religious fanatics are bound to figure it out.
The Chinese are developing the capability to attack our satellite network; the Russians already have it - and terrorists would love to get it.
Over the years, a number of analysts, such as Lt.-Col. John A. Gentry (ret.) and Prof. William A. Wulf, have tried to raise the alarm about aspects of our "high-tech" Maginot Line - but the warnings never really stuck.
The ultimate vulnerability would come from a globe-spanning war with a power like China. Beijing has no intention of speeding out of its harbors to provide pop-up targets for the U.S. Navy. The Chinese are developing asymmetrical means to fight us on the broadest possible front - not least, striking our homeland in innovative ways.
Beijing has already tested an anti-satellite weapon, and it's honing its cyber-attack skills to interfere with satellite transmissions and data processing.
What happens if we lose key links in our satellite system? We lose our strategic early-warning capability. We lose our ability to track enemy movements. We lose our ability to communicate, from the dirty-boots level to the National Command Authority.
The Global Positioning System goes away. Most of our hyperexpensive weapons systems can't hit their targets - we lose the precision-guided bombs and cruise missiles without which the Air Force and Navy can no longer fight.
And that's just the military side of things. Try daily life without satellite communications.
The Pentagon's aware of this threat - but, like the interwar French military establishment, refuses to treat it with adequate seriousness: We've spent so much money on weapons and support systems that rely on satellites that we "just say no" when it comes to contemplating a war in which the crucial link in our arsenal goes away.
And satellites are the crucial link. Digitized information is to sophisticated 21st-century militaries what petroleum was to the armies of the last century. Turn off the tap, and the war machine grinds to a halt.
Despite some classified programs underway, we're basically counting on our enemies to play nice and leave our satellites unmolested. Well, good luck. Nor do those $100,000-a-page ads that defense contractors run in the print media (ultimately billed to you, the taxpayer) ever explain that the "Network-centric Warfare" they tout fades to black if the satellites go down.
And they're going to go down - unless we get serious, fast.
There are three basic ways to attack our satellite network: physical destruction or impairment of the satellites themselves, jamming the communications links and cyber attacks on the support and user networks (the latter would range from simply taking down sites to entering them and corrupting data - perhaps to the point of retargeting our weapons).
The Chinese and the Russians are working on all three approaches - counting on the synergies achieved to devastate our warfighting capabilities.
What are we doing about it? Buying more systems that rely on satellites to function.
We're so determined to lock this threat in the closet that we haven't even worked out the legal ramifications of an attack, physical or cyber, on our satellite networks. It might seem obvious to you and me that if a foreign power shot down or crippled one of our satellites, it would be an act of war.
But plenty of lawyers today would argue that space isn't U.S. territory and that such an attack falls into a gray area. Nonsense. The obvious legal precedent is the venerable rule that an attack on a U.S.-flagged ship on the high seas constitutes an act of war. But the primary purpose of lawyers today - including some in uniform - seems to be to argue the enemy's case.
What do we need to do? Three things:This issue is second in importance only to the nuclear threat at the height of the Cold War. Just as the French built their entire national defense around a single system, we're constructing the most complex and expensive military in history in a manner that relies on one vulnerable asset - the satellite.
- The president and Congress must publish a far-more-explicit "Satellite Security Doctrine" that makes it clear that a surprise attack on the U.S. defense satellite network will be treated not only as an act of war but also as a war crime - and that our response will be swift, asymmetrical and disproportionate.
- We need to concentrate far more defense dollars on protecting our satellites, rather than on fighter aircraft with no one to fight or the Rube Goldberg missile-defense system that we're determined to foist on the Poles and Czechs (and which relies on satellite communications).
- We need to declare a moratorium on the purchase of new military systems that depend on satellite links - until we can guarantee that those links will be preserved in wartime.
If you were America's enemy, would you charge out to take on our tanks, warships and aircraft?
Or would you rather paralyze them all?

In the mail
Finally got to the post office to pick up mail from my PO Box. It's been a while. There was an entire postal basket full of goodies: A few new books from Amazon: Mark Steyn's America Alone from 2006; Robert Spencer's The Truth about Muhammad; and a copy of Brink Lindsey's THE AGE OF ABUNDANCE, How Prosperity Transformed America's Politics and Culture.
My September 2007 copy of NRA's American Rifleman was also in the basket. I found an ad for the Taurus Judge, a newish handgun chambered for Colt .45 and 410 shot shells. I must figure out how to acquire one.

Islam in verity
What do Muslims want? What do the Qu'ran and other Islamic texts actually say? Where does the truth lie? The use of the description Islamofascist is false*. The use of of the description Islamofanatic is probably an understatement. In any case, those who subscribe to Islam should just be called Muslim. Watch the following and your mental image when you hear or read those words may be more accurate. Shalom. Pax.

ARE WE MORALLY PARALYZED?
By Dr. Laurie Roth Ph.D.More»

NewsWithViews.com
Are we experiencing today in America 1938 all over again? Are we stuck in such a pathological need to avoid war and keep the peace that we have lost our ability to even define evil for more than a few weekends? Fix it! Call Oprah! They are just Mommies and Daddies! We are Islamaphobes and have created our enemies! Capitalist pigs cause everything don't they?
Have we completely forgotten the painful and vivid lessons of history when Hitler showed Britain and France a thing or to? Pre WWII the leaders just talked and negotiated with him. As world war two morphed into existence, the need to negotiate and avoid war at all costs was clear. You could see France, England and others pacifistic to the core and barely able to face the depth of evil that Hitler and the Nazis brought! Remember, how popular Neville Chamberlain was, almost rock star status in Britain. When he returned from negotiating with Hitler we shall never forget his classic words….."Peace in our time." Hitler could be reasoned with, worked with and made into a peace partner. Of course, it didn't take too many months before Hitler started attacking more countries. Regardless of his lying talk, positioning and manipulation, he was continuing through all the fancy and publicized talks mass murder and domination much like the spirit of Islamic radicals today!!! They plan on our naivity, negotiative spirit, stalls, media alliances, committees and false guilt. They have also studied history and our personalities!!! They know our therapist's numbers. They probably are some of your therapists!
Even with the many opportunities to smash Hitler, pre WWII due to his international violations such as, when he sent his military into the Rhineland, which violated not one but two international treaties, France and Britain did not act. Hitler broke International law and no one cared. They only could focus on being burned out from WW 1 and looking the other way.
Thomas Sowell www.tsowell.com talks of a dynamic in his recent article 'Morally Paralyzed", where he describes the inaction of France in the 1930s as they stood by and watched Hitler building up an army around them, later using it to attack them. Moral Paralysis was described by Thomas as the fall out of the French losing a million soldiers in the First World War. It cast a spirit of pacifism over the country, its institutions and decision-making process.
Hitler was a master speaker and PR manipulator, saying what the democracies wanted to hear, much like Iran's evil leader today! Dr. Jerri Corsi, who has written several books on Iran, outlining the very real threat to the world has stated many times on my radio show, the world must not allow a nuclear Iran. Nuclear weapons controlled by Iran would definitely end up in terrorist hands, attacking Israel and us.
Amid all the distractions, confusions, blurriness due to politics, let us not forget what evil and danger looks like!!! Islamic Fundamentalism has been attacking us and our interests in pursuit of world domination since the 70s. How long will it take us to REALLY define it and stop worrying about careful politeness? How long until we declare war against Islamic fundamentalism, its spiritual leaders, Profs, teachers, promoters, fundraisers and heads of state?

Squaring Off Against Islam
Burt Prelutsky's column hits the nail on the head:
Monday, July 16, 2007
Some people used to refer to Ronald Reagan as the Teflon president because no matter how much mud his political foes threw at him, nothing stuck. That was because he was so much wiser, more principled, charming and charismatic, than his left-wing detractors.
These days, those who seem to come equipped with Teflon are the world’s Islamics. What’s so mystifying about this is that they share none of Reagan’s finer qualities. Theirs is a religion which calls for the domination of all others, and yet the majority of Christians, Jews, atheists and agnostics, continue treating them with the utmost respect and sensitivity. Frankly, I don’t think it’s even appreciated. Instead, I believe it’s perceived as fear and cowardice.
Although Muslims are committing acts of barbarism all over the globe, our leaders continue paying lip service to the followers of Allah. These people blow up trains, planes and pizza parlors, and the British prime minister orders his cabinet members never to use the term “Islamic terrorists,” while our own president and secretary of state feel compelled to keep reminding us that Islam is a religion of peace. Funny how often they need to keep reminding us. When is the last time that anybody needed to be told that Buddhism, for instance, or Shintoism is a religion of peace? Do we require constant reassurance that the Amish mean to do us no harm? But, then, when’s the last time that a Buddhist blew up a busload of children?
In America, there appear to be far more chowderheads who fear the followers of Christ than of Muhammad. It gives me a headache trying to psychoanalyze the liberals who side with the so-called Palestinians against the Israelis, when Israel is an ally of ours, is a nation of laws and is, unlike all the Islamic tyrannies, a western-style democracy.
I fear that millions of our fellow citizens are as gullible as little kids. But instead of believing in the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, these lunkheads choose to believe that what the members of Fatah and Hamas desire is to simply live in freedom in their own homeland. When Yasser Arafat was offered that very thing, he left Camp David in a huff. What the Muslims want is to destroy Israel for no other reason than that it’s inhabited by Jews. Once they finish the job begun by Hitler, the different factions can then get back to doing what Islamists do best -- namely, killing off one another.
Some Americans, the truly befuddled, actually believe that what the rest of us recognize as Islam’s intolerance of all non-Muslims is actually a matter of economics. But, then, that’s what Communists, Socialists and other assorted loonies, always think. Because they have no morals themselves, they like to think that economic deprivation is the basis of all violence. They believe it’s poverty that leads Muslims to be suicide-bombers, but fail to explain how killing innocent civilians cures that particular problem. They don’t seem to find it peculiar that Osama bin Laden and Yasser Arafat were multi-millionaires, and that those behind the recent plot to set off explosions in London and Glasgow were all a bunch of doctors.
Apologists for Islam will go to any length, no matter how absurd, to spin the truth. They contend, for example, that the initial attack on the Twin Towers and the attack on 9/11 took place because we had waged war against Saddam Hussein, while ignoring the fact that in 1991, we were coming to the defense of Kuwait, a Muslim country under siege by Iraq. Furthermore, when you ask these crazies to explain all the prior Islamic attacks on the U.S., dating back to the Ayatollah Khomeni’s taking hostages in 1979, they suddenly remember they were supposed to be somewhere else half an hour ago.
The fact remains that Muslims hate not only the West, but the five billion non-Muslims on the face of the earth. As for their liberal defenders in this country, the sad truth is that they aren’t really pro-Islam as much as they’re anti-America. Like Muslims, they regard us as the Great Satan. It explains why the same people who openly despise all the symbols of Judaism and Christianity went ballistic over the Korans allegedly being trashed in Guantanamo; and why the ACLU, always so quick to oppose religious displays at Christmas and Chanukah, went to the mat on behalf of the Islamic woman who insisted that her face be veiled on her driver’s license.

UNCOMFORTABLE FACTS IN EVIDENCERead the original NewsWithViews article by LtCol Metcalf.

Geoff Metcalf
“The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.” --Bertrand Russell
The United States faces two significant growing threats to national security that are compounded and enabled by the lack of courage and commitment of our leadership.
• Communist Red China is a for real threat.
o The US has raised concerns with the Chinese government about the discovery of Chinese-made weapons in Iraq and Afghanistan. [Read]
o New Chicom Nuclear Sub [Read]
• Islamic terrorists are a for real threat. [Read]
In the British "Observer" of July 2, 2007, a former terrorist, Hassan Butt, looked at the terrorism problem from experience as an insider.
“I remember how we used to laugh whenever people on TV proclaimed that the cause for Islamic acts of terror like 9/11, the Madrid bombing, and 7/7, was Western foreign policy. What this does is help to draw away any critical examination from the real engine of our violence : Islamic theology.” According to a one time terrorist, the problem of Islamic terrorism is Islamic theology.
“Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all MidEast terrorists are certain to be Muslims. So if Islam produces them, then Islam is the problem. This is the great fact that the world needs to recognize to make any progress in stopping terrorism, which will eventually mean catastrophic destruction of cities including ours.” Gee, I know talk show hosts who have been fired for saying what a former terrorist acknowledges as an empirical axiom.
The Islamic radicals are taught that a reclassification of globe as a Land of War (Dar ul-Harb) actually allows any Muslim to annihilate the five rights every human is supposed granted under Islam. Anything goes in jihad. Treachery, cowardice, attacking civilians are not only allowed, but required.
So-called ‘moderate Muslims’ face a classic ‘catch-22’. The solution to their dilemma (and ubiquitous bad public relations) is to revise the Koran, but that is not doable given the mandate to interpret the Koran literally. The logical solution (not than anyone is inclined toward logic) is to discredit the philosophy of Islam. However the inherent problem for ‘peaceful Muslims’ is there is no foundation in the Koran for condemning violence.
There are clear and present facts in evidence which contradict opinions and prejudices. Islam as a ‘peaceful’ religion is tainted by obstinate facts. Fourteen centuries of brutal, imperialistic conquering focused on the establishment of a superanational Muslim world order, and obligation to impose Shari’a totalitarianism is a tough nut to ignore…and yet that seems the obligation. “By refusing to challenge centuries-old theological arguments, the tensions between Islamic theology and the modern world grow larger every day.” Butts said.
If or when anyone dares to introduce facts into the discussion they are immediately attacked as purveyors of ‘hate speech’. BULLFEATHERS! The Emperor has no clothes…
• Michael Graham was run out of WMAL, D.C. by the radical apologists at CAIR.
• I was attacked (on the same station) for quoting the Koran. “…believers in Islam are not required to tell infidels, and that's us, the truth. So they apparently have permission to lie when it is appropriate." In its press release, CAIR did not refute the substance of my comments, but called on area Muslims to exert pressure regarding "the incitement of anti-Muslim hatred caused by its talk show hosts."
• Cal Thomas was recently attacked by CAIR. "But guys like [Cal] Thomas come along and want to say every Muslim should be suspect and should be treated in a certain way. That's not just and that's not the American way," CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper said.
No, it is not the American way…but it IS for sure the CAIR way. Hassan Butt is right when he says, “if Islam produces them, then Islam is the problem.”
However, the simple logic of the former terrorist is anathema to the politically correct dogma and to myopic policy wonks.
Unable to refute facts that contradict the preconceived, opinion and prejudice, the p.c. carcinogen is censoring purveyors of facts (see ‘Muzzling Jihad Watch by Robert Spencer.
The obvious collorary to Butt’s axiom is if Islam produces terrorists…it is Islam’s responsibility to fix the problem. But they can’t and won’t. What to do…what to do?
It is not hate speech to repeat words and dogma of a protagonist. It is not hate speech to point out glaring hypocrisy. It is not hate speech to expose purveyors of for real hate speech.
Thomas Fuller once observed, “If we are bound to forgive an enemy, we are not bound to trust him.” Duh!?!?! Likewise, we should not enable evil by restricting the disinfectant quality of sunlight.

Stupid is...
Incentives
This currently pertinent and germane column of Walter Williams was found on page 31 of the National Weekly Edition of The Washington Times. The full article below was found also on Townhall.com. Williams hits it on the head again. Why are not the "deciders" listening?:What should our response be if terrorists set off a nuclear explosion, or some other weapon of mass destruction, in one of our cities? I put this question to Professor Victor Hanson, senior research fellow at Stanford University's prestigious Hoover Institution, who spoke on the Iraq war at the Wynnewood Institute lecture series.Link to the column and comments here.
His answer to my question bore a slight resemblance to a classroom practice of mine. At the beginning of each semester, I tell my students that I'm getting old and a cell phone ringing during my lecture could be devastating to my train of thought. Therefore, the penalty for a student's cell phone going off in class is a five percent reduction in his total points for the semester and a five percent reduction in the total points of the students sitting on either side of him. Of course, the students are shocked. The penalty might not be fair, penalizing a person for the actions of another, but I've not had trouble with cell phones going off in class.
Professor Hanson's answer referenced his July 6, 2004, National Review article titled "Another 9/11? The Awful Response That We Dare Not Speak About." He argues that without the direct aid of countries like Iran, Syria and rogue elements within the Saudi Arabian, Jordanian and Pakistani governments, and millions of ordinary Arabs, who know who terrorists are and where they sleep and won't turn them in, a massive terrorist attack on the United States would be nearly impossible. That means terrorists have some kind of local support. If there is an attack on our country, with weapons of mass destruction, the first thing we can expect is for country officials to deny any responsibility. Hanson says that we should beforehand tell the leaders of Middle East countries that if there's an attack on the United States, we will hold them responsible if they're proven to have aided or sheltered the terrorists.
Holding the country responsible would mean that in response to an attack we'd totally destroy their military bases, power plants, communication facilities and, if necessary, totally destroy their major cities. You say, "Williams, that's unthinkable!" Yes, while unpleasant, it is thinkable. That's precisely how 50 years of peace were maintained between the Western powers and the former Soviet Union. The leaders of the USSR knew that any attack on the United States would provoke an immediate massive nuclear retaliation. As frightening as the policy of Mutually Assured Destruction was, in the absence of a better strategy, neither Americans nor Russians were incinerated.
Laying down such a gauntlet is nothing new; it simply requires courageous leadership. In the wake of the 1962 Cuban missile crisis, President John F. Kennedy credibly warned the leaders of the Soviet Union that: "It shall be the policy of this nation to regard any nuclear missile launched from Cuba against any nation in the Western Hemisphere as an attack by the Soviet Union on the United States, requiring a full retaliatory response upon the Soviet Union." There's little question that President Kennedy's "full retaliatory response" would have included nuclear weapons.
Unfortunately, today, there's neither the American leadership nor the American character to protect ourselves from people whose declared aim is to destroy us. It's not just Americans, but the West in general, who have lost the will to protect themselves from the barbarism of the Middle East. Keep in mind that the mighty Roman Empire fell to barbarians who ushered in the Dark Ages.

Trivia is all we get?
Victor Davis Hanson consludes his townhall.com column today:There are more than 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States. Thousands took to the streets on May Day to demand new rights. While we squabble over border defense, increased security, guest workers, verifiable IDs, amnesty and earned citizenship, hundreds of thousands more aliens come illegally into the United States every year.Read the entire piece here.
The public and its leaders know these problems cannot continue unaddressed - and yet we fear the bitter medicine to come far more than suffering with the present chronic illness.
But what if al-Qaida lets off a dirty bomb or blows up an oil field, or if Americans flee Iraq, or if Russia decides to cut off natural gas to Europe or reabsorbs one of its bothersome former republics? We try to hear and see no evil, but it's not far-fetched to suggest that future world events could quickly change the lives of millions.
So why then fixate on Anna Nicole, Rosie, Imus and Alec?
Simple - they are the modern equivalents of grotesque carnival freak shows that used to provide a perverse sense of escapism from what people dare not face. Yet as our dependency on such tabloid distraction grows, so, too, do the real dangers that we ignore.
The ghost of Anna Nicole, foul-mouthed Rosie and trash-talking Imus turn out to be the best friends Ayman al-Zawahiri, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Vladimir Putin have.

The Coming War with Islam
I stumbled onto this tonight. You may find it distressing, but is it not the way the world will end should we continue on our current course?
By Solly Ganor
March 15, 2007
Five years ago, I had a conversation with a young Palestinian student who in short precise terms explained how Islam will defeat the West. The conversation opened my eyes to a much larger picture in which Israel plays only a minor role in the Islamic game of conquest. Since then I tried to speak to some Arabs who come to pray at the Mosque, but they were not as outspoken as the student.
Last week, I had another conversation with an Israeli Arab construction boss by the unlikely name of Francis who was in charge of building a villa near our house in Herzelia. He told me that his family was Christian, and his name was given to him in honor of the Franciscan monks. Our conversation was as interesting as the first conversation I had with the Arab student five years ago and I would like to share it with you. Francis frequently parked his car near our house and we would exchange polite greetings.
About a week ago, the water was shut off for repairs in the house he was building, and Francis asked me if I could give him some hot water for his coffee. He was a tall man of about forty, with reddish hair and blue eyes. He spoke a perfect Hebrew, and I naturally became curious about him. I felt that he may the right person to exchange some views with.
By his looks, I assumed that he was either a Druze or from the Syrian region. He looked more like a teacher than a construction worker and, as I later found out, he was actually a teacher by profession. Since my conversation with the student five years ago, I was always curious to hear their side of the story; therefore, I decided to invite him for a cup of coffee to our house. I saw him hesitate for a moment; then he smiled and thanked me for my hospitality.
While we drank our coffee, he told me that he was from a small village in the Galilee called Jish, near the present Kibbutz Sassa. I remembered the village very well as I was one of the soldiers who captured the village while serving in the 7th Armored brigade during the War of Independence in 1948. I decided not to tell him about it because at the time we encountered some stiff resistance at that village and quite a few of the inhabitants were killed.
He went on to tell me a little about himself. “For a while I was a teacher and I loved teaching, but I couldn’t make a living at it and I decided to join my father in law who is in the construction business.” Judging by the large Honda he was driving, I figured that he didn’t do too badly changing his profession.
Our conversation soon turned to the present situation in the Middle East, about Hamas winning the elections, the situation of the Israeli Arabs, and the last Lebanese war against Hezbollah. “As Christians we are in a difficult situation here in Israel.
Unfortunately, the Moslems and especially the extreme Islamist section, are giving the tone here. My family who lived in Bethlehem probably since the Crusaders, had to flee for their life. The Moslems have been forcing us out, by threats and even murder. Bethlehem that was once predominantly Christian is now predominantly Moslem. Very little is written about it even in the Israeli press.”
He sipped his coffee and gave me a long look. He seemed like someone who wasn’t quite sure whether to say what he was about to say. I gave him an encouraging nod.
“I have to tell you something which very few of you seem to comprehend.” He continued, “Your bungling war against a few thousand Hezbollah fighters which you should have crushed no matter what, considering the importance of the outcome, has created a completely new situation, not only for this area, but globally. Your inept leadership totally misunderstood the importance of winning this war."
“As a matter of fact, the whole Moslem world, not only the Arabs, simply couldn’t believe that the mighty Israeli Army that defeated the combined Arab forces in six days in 1967, and almost captured Cairo and Damascus in 1973, couldn’t defeat a small army of Hezbollah men. As usual the Moslems see things the way they want to see things. Most think that the present generation of Israelis have gone soft and can be defeated."
“The American bungling of the war in Iraq only added to their conviction that victory not only over Israel but also over the West is not only possible, but certain. The ramifications of these two bungling wars may bring an Islamic bloody Tsunami all over the West, not only in Israel. The sharks smell blood and these two wars gave them the green light to attack sooner than they had in mind. Your problem is that you are on the defensive and they have the option to choose the time and the places when and where to attack and there is nothing much you can do about it. When will you Westerners realize that half measures don’t work with people who are willing to die by the thousands for Allah to achieve their goal? In their eyes the Western World is simply an abomination on earth that has to be wiped out.”
He spoke quietly and I could just picture him in the school giving his students a lecture. I poured him another cup of coffee and encouraged him to continue.
“The Americans, the Europeans, and even you Israelis really don’t know what it is all about, do you? During the last generation hundreds of thousands of children have been taught all over the Moslem world in Madrass schools to become martyrs for Allah in order to kill the infidels. These youngsters not only are ready to do it, but are actually in the process of doing it. Bombs are going off all over the world killing and maiming thousands of people, not only on 9/11 in the US, in London Madrid and Bali, but in Africa, India, Bengladesh, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and many other places. The first signs of the Islamic tsunami is already here, but the West doesn’t understand, or doesn’t want to understand what is coming."
“The Americans, instead of realizing that this is as bad as World War Two, or even worse, are going to pull out of Iraq, handing it over to Iran on a silver platter. Next may come the Saudis and the rest of the Gulf States. When dirty bombs go off all over Western towns, who is going to stop the Iranians?"
“Now is the time to stop them, not only because they are developing nuclear bombs, but because Iran has become the base for all Islamic terrorist. They supply money, men, and weapons to Islamic terrorist around the world, quite often through their diplomatic mail. Billions of petro-dollars that are pouring into Iran are being funneled into terrorist organizations world-wide. They believe, and perhaps rightly so, that the West will do nothing to stop them in achieving their goals. Is history repeating itself? Are the Iranians making the same mistake that Hitler made when he attacked Poland? Is the situation similar?"
“As a history teacher who studied the subject thoroughly I can tell you that Western victory in World War Two was not all certain. Hitler could have won the war if he would have gone ahead with the atomic bomb development before the Americans. The Germans began working on it in the thirties, and it was Hitler’s decision to prefer building more conventional arms, as he considered atomic weapons sheer fantasy. Hitler made the wrong decision, but had he made the right decision the world would have been a different type of world today, wouldn’t it? The West won the war against Hitler by sheer chance. Very few people seem to realize that.”
I must say that his last words shook me up quite a bit. Had Hitler made a different decision, I would have died in Dachau, there wouldn’t have been a Jewish state called Israel, and most likely there wouldn’t have been any Jews left in the world. The idea that the Western democracies in general and the fate of the Jewish people in particular could have hinged on Hitler’s one decision, is a scenario of the worst nightmare.
He notices that his last words had an effect on me, and he smiled. “I see that my words are not wasted on you,” he said dryly. I nodded, and he continued with his lecture. “Coming back to our time, the Iranians rely on the West doing nothing about their development of nuclear bombs. They also rely on their secret weapon: an inexhaustible supply of Islamic suicide bombers, some of them who are already planted all over the Western World. Besides the Islamic countries that supply these suicide bombers, a second front has been opened, and that is the Internet with more than five thousand Islamic web sites, brain washing and urging young Moslems to become martyrs for Allah. They especially target young Moslems who live in Europe and the West in general. The Western intelligence authorities consider these web sites a bigger threat than the Iranian atomic bomb. Al-Qaeda recently issued a television broadcast that promised a devastating attack against its enemies this spring. As we all know, Al-Qaeda doesn’t make empty threats."
“Actually, I don’t understand why the Iranians bother to develop atomic bombs and bring the whole world down on them. Every suicide bomber is a potential atomic bomb, or a biological, chemical or dirty bomb that can be no less devastating than an atom bomb. The Americans and Europeans have no defense against this type of war."
“What can we do against this type warfare?” I asked him. “Well, you Israelis, should better prepare yourself for another round against Hezbollah. It will not be long in coming. It depends on the Iranians to give the word. This time you will have to destroy Hezbollah no matter what the cost may be."
“Of course, your next round against Hezbollah may involve the Syrians and the Iranians against you. The Iranians declared that they will not allow Hezbollah to be defeated no matter what and may launch their missiles against you. So will the Syrians. What will Israel do? It is unlikely that Israel will accept its destruction and may use their nuclear arsenal if the West will not come to their help. Perhaps our book of Revelation is not so wrong in describing that the end of the world would start at Armageddon, which we know as Har-Megiddo in Israel. The book of Revelations describe the last battle would be fought at Armageddon between the “Forces of good and the forces of evil.”
“And who would you call the forces of good ‘Israel or Islam?’ I asked looking him straight in the eyes. He gave me a startled look. “If I were a Moslem, I would have no problem to name the forces of good and it wouldn’t be Israel. As a Christian, I would probably name Israel, but as a Christian Arab I would prefer not to answer.”
We looked at each other. His answer made it clear where the Israeli Arabs stood, whether they were Moslems or Christians. And why should I be surprised? After all the Israeli Arabs call the establishment of the State of Israel their nakbah (disaster).
Is there a way to avoid the “Armageddon”?
“I think there are two ways to avoid it. One can be a major war which the West can win. As in World War Two, had the West attacked the Germans in 1936 the war would have lasted not more than a month with very few casualties. Their procrastination resulted in World War II with all its consequences. Eventually, the West will have to tackle the Iranians, it is better that they do it now to avert a world catastrophe later. With Iran defeated the Islamic onslaught will lose its base, and it may be the turning point in history to defeat the menace of extreme Islam. The majority of the Moslems don’t want this confrontation anyway.”
“You are painting a rather dark picture. When do you think we will have the next round against Hezbollah?” I asked. “I think they will attack again as soon as they are fully re-equipped and I think it will be during the summer, while Israel is still in a military and political turmoil.”
For a while, we sat in silence. He finished his second cup of coffee and got up. “I know what I am going to do. I am going to Canada to join my brother. This country is becoming much too dangerous for Christians as well,” he said. He thanked me for the coffee and we shook hands.
“You said there are two ways to avoid Armageddon?” I remembered to ask him.
“Sure, all the West has to do is follow Putin’s ways. He assassinates his enemies without blinking an eye. Assassinate the four or five Mullahs who run the show, Ahmadinejad, and a few more Iranian fanatics, and the War can be avoided. It may be difficult to do, but not impossible. With today’s hi- tech technology I am sure that new weapons against individuals are being prepared right now. I think it would be a better way of handling the matter than an all out war against Islam.”
The conversation with Francis was not more encouraging than the one I had with the Palestinian student five years ago. It was becoming clear that Israel may be on the forefront for the coming war of the West against Islam, unless we follow Francis’ suggestion to assassinate the heads of the snake, rather than going to war with Islam.

War is lost?
Our Trotskyite leaders are ignorant and confused. The latest "news" today: The war in Iraq "is lost" and a US troop surge is failing to bring peace to the country, the leader of the Democratic majority in the US Congress, Harry Reid, said Thursday. This fool obviously does not understand with whom we are at war. As I blogged yesterday our media does not either. Why are we being inundated with the rantings of a domestic maniac while little is being told of the barbaric murderous islamo-fanatics bombing innocents in Mesopotamia?
"I believe ... that this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything, as is shown by the extreme violence in Iraq this week," Reid told journalists.
I'm in the midst of reading Howard Bloom's Global Brain: The Evolution of Mass Mind From The Big Bang to the 21st Century. Bloom has breaking theories of the impact of networking on the genetic makeup of life forms on this planet. He explores the history of the successes and failures of the societal structures from bacteria through ants, bees, baboons, Greeks to our current chaos. I still cannot understand where in our network the thinking and actions of the Trotskyites fall.

How many died?

The AP reports:
April 18, 2007: Officials report 233 people killed or found dead across Iraq. At least 183 of those are killed when four large bombs explode in mainly Shiite locations of Baghdad. Here we're hearing incessant reports of a schizophrenic maniac [who should have been locked away in an insane asylum, uhn mental institution] massacring 32 folks. Why not reports of barbaric murderous islamo-fanatics [insurgents?]who kill more than seven times that number in just one day.

Vive la France
Discovered the marvelous new web site of Taki Theodoracopulos. I'm disappointed now for having renewed my subscription to The American Conservative magazine just so I could read Taki's bi-weekly words. I s'pose redundancy is better than a desert.
One of the responses to Taki's "elegant" essay on France says in part:
One of the responses to Taki's "elegant" essay on France says in part:
ALL Western nations owe their liberties to the French who defeated the Mohammedan Empire’s attempt to conquer all of Europe at the Battle of Tours, at the border of Southern France, in 732.Now we're thirteen centuries removed. Who, what, where and why won't the islamofanatics succeed today?
You bloody Francophobes of America and Britain: If it weren’t for France, YOU would all be speaking ARABIC!

Buy lots of ammo

There are many lessons to be learned by reading Brigitte Gabriel's Because They Hate. The first is to arm yourself now while you can. The Christians were easy prey for the islamists because they were mostly unarmed. I recommend the M1A. It's accurate, dependable, powerful and ammo is still relatively cheap. Buy lots of ammo. The libs know they will never get us to give up our guns but they understand ammo is of limited supply and easier to ban. I guarantee you when the libs get the presidency they and the media will conspire to ban ammo or tax it so much it becomes too expensive to purchase. Good ammo will last for decades and will be worth its weight in gold when the supply runs out.Larry Elder's column.
Well, an HBar isn't bad. Nor is 12 ga. w/00 buck shot.
