Offensive writings

Having read yet another article about University of Missouri-Kansas City's Dr. Harris Mirkin (4/1 METROetropolitan, Monday, 4/1 "UMKC scholar's views on pedophilia anger many" ), I felt impelled to must  express my outrage over UMKC's willingness to keep a pedophile defender him on its payroll.
Dr. Mirkin's vile campaign to legitimize "adult-child sex" and to trivialize its impact on child victims is practically criminal. How can a state institution like UMKC give someone a stage from which to spew such tripe?
UMKC maintains that Dr. Mirkin's views don't represent theirs, but one must ask... are they footing the bill to send him to "pornography conventions" to slink around with porno stars? Are they allowing him to make these statements from campus? Do they let him teach this garbage? In their the university's rush to appease academia's "open-minded" intelligentsia, UMKC doesn't seem to care.
But we should. It'll be our sons and daughters who'll pay the price in Dr. Mirkin's sexual utopia. We owe every child our promise to keep this kind of destructive perversion beyond debate.
Dr. Mirkin is free to say what he wants. That doesn't mean we're obligated to give him the platform from which to say it. UMKC seems willing to do this. I'm not. And I hope other Kansas Citians won't tolerate it either. Send a message to UMKC and Dr. Mirkin. When it comes to our children - all children - hands off!
